Welcome to the birth of Skopelos.org – the one and only website you need to visit for anything and everything about the beautiful Greek, Aegean island of Skopelos. For those of you who are  regular visitors to the island we will keep you up to date with what is happening here until you have a chance to come back. Enjoy browsing and maybe you’ll find somethings you didn’t even know about Skopelos. For those of you have never been here, well,  maybe a tour of this website will tempt you to visit us.

You may already have seen us at the movies – Skopelos was the island of Kalokari in Mamma Mia ! the movie starring Meryl Streep et al based on the Abba songs. We will, over the course of the next few weeks and months, provide as much information as we can about getting here, being here and enjoying it here.

Our overall aim is to be as accurate as possible in all the information we provide – one of the over riding reasons for the creation of this site. So much informaton on the web is out of date and in some case downright nonsense.

We hope you enjoy what is already here and keep coming back to see more.

This is where you will hear it first – for instance no more parking above Stafilos beach next year. By the time you come back in 2010 there will be another taverna – rented by the same guy who has the other one above the beach, same food, same music and loads, and loads of congestion. You really would think that somebody could get an act together.

A real supermarket on Skopelos – at last. First impressions were pretty good – they’ve managed to get a lot of produce in what, for a supermarket, is not a great deal of space, but there is good choice of most  – which makes a pleasant change. And of course the prices look attractive !
